54704 boys, girls registered under ‘let’s play’ to promote football | KNO

As many as 54702 both boys and girls have been registered under “Let’s Play” scheme for promotion of football in the state. “54702 students / Non-students both boys & girls have been registered under the scheme in 199 Zones of the State,” minister for Technical Education & YSS department said in a written reply to a question by legislator Mohd Ashraf Mir. The Scheme is being sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Government of India, under the Scheme Co-branded with “Khelo India” named as “Let’s Play”. Regarding criteria adopted for registration, the minister said, online registration at Zonal level has been made on the portal devised by the Department, Students and non-students—both boys and girls under the age group of 6 years to under 19 years were eligible for the competitions. “The last date for online registration was extended up to 15th of December 2017.” Under the scheme, the minister said the Youth of the rural areas in general and Physical Zones in particular will get benefit to participate in the competitions. “Allied facilities like Refreshment, Uniform, required Equipment will be provided at Zonal, District and State level,” the minister said. The winner Teams at Zonal level, the minister said, shall get chance to participate at District level and vice-versa. “Selected probables at State level shall be given a specialized training in sports discipline,” the minister added.
